Tala Helps Build Your Credit History

Great news! Tala now offers customers an opportunity to build credit history through use of our platform. In compliance with the Credit Information System Act (CISA) of 2008, we are registered with the Credit Information Corporation (CIC) and do both positive as well as negative loan reporting.

We know you may have questions about when and whether your loan will be reported by Tala as Positive or Negative to the CIC. Please choose the section that best fits your current situation:

I do not have a Tala loan right now, and I paid back my last loan: You're a valued Tala customer and will receive a good report at the CIC from us! For more information about this, please scroll to the bottom of this e-mail.

I have a loan right now and it isn't due yet: As long as you repay this loan, we will automatically create a good report for you at the CIC! For more information about this, please scroll to the bottom of this e-mail.

I have a loan right now and am past due by more than 60 days: As long as you repay this loan, we may still create a good report for you at the CIC! If you do not repay your loan by 30 days from now, however, Tala may negatively report you.

Why positive reporting is good for Filipinos: At Tala, we want to help you achieve your financial goals. A good credit history means that you'll be more likely to be approved for loans in the future, even if those loans don't come from us. Tala offers positive credit history reporting at no charge to you - all you have to do is repay your loans and maintain a relationship with us for at least 6 months! Even if you've been late before, you will still receive a positive report!

What a negative report means: All non performing loans (more than 90 days overdue) will be listed to the CIC. A negative report may prevent you from accessing credit from us and other financial institutions in the future.

If your loan is overdue and you do not want to be negatively reported: All customers with loans overdue by more than 60 days will be notified to clear within 30 days, by paying the overdue amount in the Tala app. As long as you repay your loans and maintain a relationship with us for at least 6 months, you will be eligible for a good report, even if you've been late before!

Your Loan Officer,
Lucy

  1. i already pay my overdue loan for 30 days and tala texted me that they forwarded my application in the CIC. How many months does it takes for the CIC to approve my loan?
